Our Wedding Vows.

Friends and family,

The recipe of love must always include
Some herbs and spices for fortitude;
A tablespoon of forgiveness -
A clove of loyalty -
A cup of faith -
And a sprig of honesty;
A pinch of patience -
A teaspoon of trust -
A cup of friendship -
And a bit of lust;
Mix all these herbs and spices well -
No other recipe could ever excel;
Add David and Carol for proper effect;
Then sauté the whole in two cups of respect.

 David and Carol have invited you all here to witness their marriage and for you to wish them well.

In their relationship they know they were meant to be together, they see this commitment as a way of letting the world know that together they are one. They are two individuals working as one, two hearts beating as one.

Now I, Don Grant, a civil celebrant, am authorized by law to solemnize this, your marriage, according to the laws of Australia. Before you, David and you, Carol are joined in marriage in my presence and in the presence of your family and friends, I am bound, as you know, to remind you publicly of the solemn, the serious and binding nature of the relationship into which you are about to enter. Marriage, as we understand it, is a full and voluntary commitment of a man to a woman, and a woman to a man, to the exclusion of all others.

David, will you take Carol, to be your wife, will you love her, comfort her, honour and keep her, in sickness and in health and forsaking all others keep only unto her, for as long as you both shall live?
I will.

 Carol, will you take David, to be your husband, will you love him, comfort him, honour and keep him, in sickness and in health and forsaking all others keep only unto him, for as long as you both shall live?
I will.
 Carol, I for my true love, wish to declare , my feelings for you, are so pure and rare  The greatest dream granted to ever come true I have received, in standing here beside you
 With this ring I give you my heart for I have no greater gift to give. I promise to always do my best for you, I will be honoured to call you wife and blessed to call you mine.

David, with this ring I give you my personal gift and my personal promise of love, trust and pride that you are my husband.

David and Carol the commitment you have just made to each other will be the basis of your lives together. May the meaning of your commitment grow stronger every day for as long as you live. We have all heard you promise to share your lives in marriage, we recognise and respect these promises. In making public this bond uniting you and the power of your own love, I now have pleasure in pronouncing you Husband and Wife.
